Trent and Dove Housing has picked up the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents' (RoSPA) Platinum award.

The honour is the second highest level in the charity's Quality Safety Audit award scheme and recognises the organisation's efforts to outline a three-year stringent action plan, resulting in changes to its health and safety management systems.

Anna Hickman, health and safety adviser at Trent and Dove Housing, said: "The benchmark against similar organisations provided by RoSPA's QSA has been invaluable to us, and achieving Platinum (Level 4) has been a real boost to our confidence that we are making the right steps forward."

Frances Richardson, director of operations at RoSPA, commented on the award, noting that morale was found to be high at the organisation.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service is another organisation that has been praised for its health and safety efforts recently.

The group collected the Diamond honour from RoSPA after reducing its number of injuries from 216 during 2009/10 to 136 to 2011/12.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801533978-ADNFCR
