Hotel health and safety reports are set to be accessible to the travel trade via the auditor Check Safety First, which may provide travellers with a wider understanding of warning signs.

The company audits hotels on a monthly basis and is to place its findings under the TourCheck name, enabling tour operators and travel agents to view the health and safety standards of particular accommodations, reports Travel Daily.

Mark Harrington, chief executive officer of Check Safety First, told the news provider: "Tour operators and travel agents have a duty of care in dynamic packaging and no one understands the legal.

"Access to these reports could add to the question of 'did you do as much as you could to check safety?'"

In recent weeks, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents urged companies to consider hiring health and safety consultants to help with risk issues in the workplace.ADNFCR-2754-ID-800585787-ADNFCR
