Deeside College has hosted a health and safety awards ceremony, after its courses' pass rates proved to be significantly higher than the national average, suggesting that pupils have good knowledge of safety signage.

The accolades were handed to 150 successful candidates who have worked on a National Board In Occupational Safety and Health programme at the centre, which boasts a 90 per cent pass rate for the qualifications, according to the Flintshire Chronicle.

Deeside College's health and safety lecturer Steve Mason told the newspaper: "Health and safety teaching staff at Deeside College possess a wealth of industry background and it can be seen that students benefit from this."

Mr Mason also admitted his delight to have pass rates above the national average.

Last week, Acre claimed that more health and safety specialists are now paying attention to sustainability, with many experts see a strong balance between green measures and occupational health and safety. ADNFCR-2754-ID-800640511-ADNFCR
