A firm in Grimsby has been acknowledged for its effective approach to health and safety, indicating the recognition that can be given to companies that adopt measures such as safety signage.

Grimsby Resin Floors has been handed SAFEcontractor status, with representatives citing the business’ new premises, which stretches 4,000 sq m and houses the organisation’s 20-person team, reports the Grimsby Telegraph.

Chris Parker, national business development manager, told the newspaper: "Moving to the new site two years ago has helped us to function in a better way, everything is all under one roof, rather than in different locations, which was the case as the company expanded.”

Mr Parker stated that health and safety has become more important with regard to the distribution industry.

This news comes after the Press and Journal reported that Capita’s occupational health service has gained two health and safety awards.

The Aberdeen firm won the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents’ gold award, while also capturing a silver award from the Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801270111-ADNFCR
