Mayoral candidate Jenny Jones has spoken out against safety signage in Tottenham.

Ms Jones, who is a candidate for the Green Party, told the Haringey Independent that roads in the area are dangerous for cyclists and cited "inconspicuous signs" as one of the reasons why cyclists may be discouraged from getting on their bikes.

"The mayor and the borough have overlooked many of the basic needs of cyclists, such as lower traffic speeds and easy to read signs. These basic problems are preventing people from getting on bikes," she noted.

She advised Haringey Council to start fixing the issues, which include hard-to-spot warning signs in Seven Sisters and Tottenham.

Safety signage was addressed at Skegness Railway Station recently, with the BBC reporting that warning signs were installed at the site in order to stop people from playing on its sculptures.

The move was triggered after a teenage boy fell when riding on one of the installations.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801306942-ADNFCR
