The Flashpoint Lifeskills Centre in Cornwall has been re-accredited by the LASER Alliance.

The Bodmin location covers a range of scenarios, including kitchen, farm and beach safety, as well as how to make a 999 emergency call.

The LASER Alliance is hosted by The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) and sponsored by the Gas Safety Trust.

Cassius Francis, LASER Alliance co-ordinator and RoSPA youth liaison worker, said: "What particularly impressed me on my first visit to the centre was that the pupils I met had visited before to do training on first aid.

"That spoke volumes about the culture of embedding messages and supporting the continuing development of children’s risk competence."

He added that manager Ellen McConnell and her staff "deserve great credit" for their dedication.

Flashpoint Lifeskills Centre first achieved LASER-accredited status in 2007 and again in 2011. It has also been tested under strict criteria to display the quality of the experience provided for children and disabled people who visit the centre.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801636218-ADNFCR
