The FISH platform has been devised in a bid to improve the health and safety of fishermen across the European Union (EU). has reported that the inaugural meeting of the platform took place earlier this month, where participants were given the chance to illustrate the importance of health and safety to their country and look at areas for co-operation.

Representatives from Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Latvia and the UK were among those who took part in the event.

The discussions determined that FISH could play a key role in improving health and safety by sharing prowess and knowledge of best practice.

It will also investigate casualty figures within fisheries across Europe, giving more attention to risk assessments and refresher tutorials.

While fishing may appear like a danger-free sport, it can pose a number of hazards to people, especially those who are inexperienced.

Individuals who are new to the hobby should always guarantee that they are with an expert.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801457084-ADNFCR
