Farmers need more knowledge when it comes to health and safety.
This is the finding from the Royal Bank of Scotland, which discovered that 70 per cent of respondents in a recent survey believe that they would benefit from more information on the topic, reports the Scottish Farmer.
The research surveyed 450 farmers, with more than half of the respondents admitting that there was no documented health and safety policy at their workplace.
As well as this, the study found that just a quarter of Scottish farmers knew that it was a legal requirement of a business that employs five people or more to have such a document.
Health and safety among farmers was also recently highlighted by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) North Wales Branch.
The group has urged farmers to prioritise quad bike and tractor safety, with increasing financial pressures making the topic even more important.
