Fake interrogations for construction bosses

Construction industry bosses are to be given staged interrogations to highlight the kind of interview they would have to undertake if a worker was killed or injured at work.

The event has been named Wrong Direction, Don't Fall For It, and is being organised by safety campaign Working Well Together.

It will feature a fictional operations director being interrogated by both a barrister and a lawyer to simulate a PACE (Police & Criminal Evidence Act) interview.

The scenario being presented is that a warehouse worker has suffered “a fall from height through a fragile roof”, and an interrogation is conducted to show “the implications of such an interview for those concerned”.

HSE spokesman Ian Weekes said: "It'll be a real eye-opener for those attending, giving a detailed insight into what happens when someone has to answer to HSE because a worker has been injured."

The free event, taking place at Lumb Farm Country Club in Ripley, Derbyshire on December 6th, will be presented by officials from the Health and Safety Executive.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801656553-ADNFCR
