Electronic signs to be introduced in Bristol

12th June 2012 | Warning Signs

Electronic signs are to be fitted at gateways to Weston-super-Mare in order to inform people of available parking spaces in the town.

These will be installed at Herluin Way and will reveal how many spaces are available on the beach and in the town centre's car parks, while other signs will be erected to direct drivers to nearby spaces, according to This Is Bristol.

North Somerset Council executive member for highways, Councillor Elfan Ap Rees, told the news provider: "This is another step towards improving the town centre business economy by reducing traffic flows and congestion."

Mr Ap Rees explained that more needs to be done in order to encourage drivers to make use of off-street car parks.

The signs will prove to be beneficial for local motorists, especially during the summer months when it is likely that there will be an added influx of visitors to the region's beach.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801382384-ADNFCR
