Costain collects safety award

The Costain Industrial Cooling Team working on the energy-from-waste plant on Teeside has been handed a contractor of the month safety award.
The honour was presented by Foster Wheeler and means the firm will be able to retain a trophy for a month and a £500 cheque, which goes to a charity selected by the professionals.
Mark Blackham, managing director for industrial cooling, said: “The award is thoroughly deserved for the consistent proactive safety attitude the team has shown and will significantly assist in securing future work for the next phase of the project.”
The aim of the work was to offer sufficient cooling performances for the site using the latest technology to minimise environmental impact and increase the efficiency of thermal performance.
By collecting industry awards, businesses could see a boost in their reputation, potentially giving them the upper hand over rivals.
