Work on 608 construction sites across Spain, France and Switzerland was halted on November 6th for a company-wide health and safety day.

Bouygues Enterprises France-Europe, a construction firm based in Europe, holds similar days on an annual basis.

The day featured interactive workshops for staff, subcontractors and even customers who could learn about health and safety signage, procedures and best practice.

This year's campaign, ‘Your Safety is Also My Safety’, was based around the idea of encouraging employees to be responsible for each other as well as themselves.

Bouygues’ health and safety policy has enabled the firm to reduce its number of occupational accidents by 75 per cent in just six years.

Philippe Bonnave, deputy CEO of Bouygues Construction, said: “We want to achieve our target of zero accidents rapidly. This means being more demanding and it means spreading a safety culture shared by everyone.”ADNFCR-2754-ID-801658543-ADNFCR
