Youngsters in west Somerset have been learning about cycling safety.

Some 24 children from West Somerset Nursery Allsorts holiday club have enjoyed an interactive day of learning at Minehead First School, according to the Somerset County Gazette.

Taking place inside the school and in the playground, a mix of traditional classroom-based tutorials and an obstacle course helped the pupils learn some basic safety skills.

Road safety stickers were given out on the day, along with certificates for taking part.

Police community support officers (PCSOs) Luisa Skinner and Katherine Williams from the police neighbourhood beat team headed the awareness day, demonstrating how skills such as maintenance checks could prove very helpful.

Safety stickers can be used in a variety of different ways. They can also be employed as construction signs and office door signs.ADNFCR-2754-ID-800027628-ADNFCR
