Buckingham Primary School has formed a new health and safety team that is comprised of Year 6 pupils.

It is hoped that the move will tackle inconsiderate parking by parents when they are picking up or dropping off their children, after a young boy was almost hit by a reversing car in the area, reports the Bicester Advertiser and Review.

Headteacher Jan Jones told the news provider: "They do have a lot of power as children. Kids are very vocal these days. Pupil voice is very powerful. You do listen when it’s your own children."

The pupils are looking to provide assemblies focused on safety as part of their work.

Elsewhere, technology company 3M will run a health and safety event at Sandown Park this month, which could cause businesses to add new safety signage.

The event will take place on February 28th and 29th and aims to provide help on how to choose effective personal protective equipment.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801290752-ADNFCR
