Chilled foods firm Bakkavor has been recognised for its health and safety efforts by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

The company has been honoured for its work at the Tilmanstone Salads site in Kent and Wingland Foods in Lincolnshire, with both sites being commended for their approach to tackling accident prevention in the workplace, reports FoodManufacture.co.uk.

Ann Savage, group technical director at Bakkavor, said: "We are delighted to have been recognised by RoSPA for our achievements. This reflects the hard work and commitment both of these sites have made towards the ongoing prevention of accidents and ill-health."

It marks the fifth year in succession that the Wingland site has attained Gold status.

The National Federation of Builders is another firm which has recently been applauded for its health and safety efforts.

The company won an accolade for its Stay Safe, Stay Away scheme at the CIOB Commitment to Construction in West Yorkshire awards.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801338011-ADNFCR
