Angry residents call for better parking signs

20th August 2010 | Warning Signs

Residents in Bracknell have raised concerns about over-zealous car clamping patrols being operated on the Jennett's Park estate.

According to locals, the estate's owner has employed a clamping firm that has even clamped a heavily pregnant woman who lives on the estate.

One resident told the Bracknell Forest Standard that inadequate signage was, in part, responsible for the high levels of car clamping activity.

Home worker Chris Wright, 32, of Osprey Avenue, told the news provider: "We're upset about all of this and something needs to be done.

"They need better signs - there's some but they're small and they don’t face into the road so you can't see them."

Mr Wright claimed that on one occasion, a van driver was clamped while he was in his vehicle reading a map.

Meanwhile, Worth Abbey Estate in Sussex is funding a project to encourage drivers to slow down, which will include new road markings and signs.ADNFCR-2754-ID-800033381-ADNFCR
