Anglia Ruskin University has collected an award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

It achieved a Level 5 Diamond award from the organisation after completing its fifth quality safety audit, with the university being commended for the quality of its health and safety policies and procedures over the past 12 years.

Paul Varley, head of risk management at Anglia Ruskin University, said: “Led by our vice-chancellor Michael Thorne and board of governors, we pride ourselves in championing the importance of taking a sensible pragmatic approach to health and safety, which allows us to provide a safe environment to all our students and staff without inhibiting our teaching and research work.”

Mr Varley continued by saying that the honour is a “remarkable achievement” for everyone at the company.

RoSPA recently confirmed that an extra £500 million of government funding has been announced for accident and emergency departments across Britain.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801623759-ADNFCR
