Stokesley-based gas analysis manufacturer Analox has collected the health and safety accolade at the Best Factory Awards 2012.

The judges deemed that the company has an "absolute focus" on customer service and trustworthy ethical operation, adding that it is a firm where skills and innovation mean more than size.

It is not the only business that has been acknowledged for protecting workers in recent weeks, as Haldane Fisher has won the top safety honour at the Export and Freight Transport and Logistics Awards.

Emma Harbottle, head of operations for Analox,  said: "Health and safety is at the core of the products and services we provide. Our gas analysis products keep people safe in many different places, such as diving bells, cellars, industrial premises and submarines. "

Ms Harbottle explained that the honour illustrates that the company practices what it preaches and is committed to "doing the right thing" for staff and customers.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801470893-ADNFCR
